Organization at a glance
Mymensingh Disabled Peoples’ Organization to Development (Mymensingh DPOD) is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Mymensingh District of Bangladesh. It has been working since 2002 with direct involvement of the persons with disabilities.
The organization was started as a part of the approach titled Persons with Disabilities Self-Initiative to Development (PSID) of Bangladesh Protibandhi Kallyan Somity (BPKS) and through organizing persons with disabilities of the local areas.
Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
Working area
Mymensingh DPOD is working in the Unions of Bhaluka Upazila (sub-district) of Mymensingh districts. The Unions are - Bharadoba, Dhitpur, Bhaluka purosobha, Mallikbari, Meduary, Harirbari, Uthura, Birunia, Dhakatia and Kachina.
